The Beach Bats - Indie-Surfers Dark New Single "How Long"

Hamilton’s indie-surf rockers The Beach Bats have dropped a new single “How Long”. This laid back tune has the singer Tony Doni singing real low throughout the verse similar to Jim Morrison. The chorus is big and features some great backing vocals from Stephanie Pearl and Lauren Mikeala.  The surfy guitar licks of Chelsea White give the tune the classic Beach Bats character and keeps the surf vibes alive in this dark rocker tune. The Beach Bats play “The Bout” at the Hideout on March 1st. – Kris Gies

New Track: "All My Loving" - Ceramic Animal

“All My Loving,” the latest single from Ceramic Animal, is an expansive (almost 10 minute) musical sojourn. Steeped in a nighttime groove, the song hovers between a smooth, weightless, cruising approach and a heavier, psych-blues stomp. Those adventurous escalations continually increase the pressure, until the top appears ready to explode. What results is a locked-in yet wide-reaching trip that precisely pushes the limits. You can catch Ceramic Animal at Johnny Brenda's on Tuesday, March 26, with touring compatriots Spendtime Palace.

Debut Vixen77 EP Available for Streaming & Download

Punk outfit Vixen77 recently dropped its debut self-titled EP. Recorded & produced by Pete Donnelly, the three-song sampling unapologetically announces the group's arrival. With an enthusiastic assertiveness, the femme fatales mesh polished backing harmonies and guitar shreds with unwavering aggression. Vixen77 will be performing next in Philly at Kung Fu Necktie on Sunday, February 24, along with Pravda, Ketosis, and Symfinity.

The American Legion's Centennial Anniversary

Celebrate the American Legion Post 134's centennial anniversary this weekend, starting tomorrow. Over the years the Legion has shown a lot of love to the local scene, and this is a great chance to send some of that love back their way. Local bands Nick Normal, No Aloha, Deathlist, and more will be playing. Each day goes from 5-11. There’s gonna be plenty of grub (vegan food included), and raffle prizes throughout the day. It’s only $7 per day, which is only $21 for the whole weekend. If you bring a canned good donation, the price drops down to $5. Check out the full details and lineup at the Legion’s facebook page here.
